Israeli Airstrike on Southern Lebanon’s Maaroub Leaves Four Dead
The ministry also stated that, in the previous 24 hours alone, 35 people were killed and 152 wounded in ongoing strikes across the country.
According to the same figures, the total death toll since March 2 has reached 2,055, while the number of injured has climbed to 6,588.
The escalation comes amid continued Israeli military operations in Lebanon following cross-border attacks attributed to Hezbollah that began earlier in March, which have further intensified regional instability, according to reports.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to expand military operations across Lebanon unless Hezbollah is disarmed and a long-term peace agreement is reached, describing it as a settlement that would “endure for generations.”
Meanwhile, diplomatic developments have also emerged, with Lebanon’s presidency stating that Beirut and Israel have agreed to hold their first meeting in Washington on April 14. The move has drawn criticism from Hezbollah, reflecting internal divisions over how to respond to the escalating conflict.
