Syrian forces enter Deir Hafir amid YPG/SDF pullback west of Euphrates
According to statements released by the army’s operations command, “Advance units of the Syrian Arab Army have begun entering the area west of the Euphrates, starting with the city of Deir Hafir,” as stated by reports.
Prior to the deployment, the military issued warnings to local residents, advising them to avoid zones designated for military operations until those areas are fully secured. The warning highlighted ongoing efforts to clear landmines and unexploded remnants of war, stressing that the measures were taken to ensure civilian safety.
The development coincided with claims by Ferhat Abdi Sahin, described as a leading figure within the YPG/SDF group targeted by the operation west of the Euphrates, who said that militant elements would begin relocating to areas east of the river starting at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT), according to reports.
