Israeli Soldiers Arrest Four Syrians in Quneitra
A state-run TV channel said the soldiers arrested four young men from the same family in the al-Hafayer area of Khan Arnabah.
The operation came hours after five Israeli military vehicles entered Saida al-Golan in southern Quneitra before withdrawing. Forces also carried out a raid on the outskirts of Ma’riya village, west of Daraa province.
Incursions by Israeli forces in Quneitra have intensified recently, with locals reporting advances into farmland, destruction of hundreds of acres of forest, arrests of residents, and the establishment of military checkpoints.
Government data indicates the Israeli army has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into southern provinces since December 2024.
Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights, seizing the demilitarized buffer zone in a move that violated the 1974 Disengagement Agreement with Syria.
