Ukrainian Drones Attack Russian Regions

(MENAFN) Ukrainian drones launched attacks early Thursday on the Black Sea resort city of Sochi and the nearby Sirius educational zone in southern Russia, according to local authorities.

Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar Region—where the assault took place—stated that two women lost their lives when an intercepted drone crashed to the ground.

Additionally, 11 individuals sustained injuries, with four requiring hospitalization, the official revealed.

In the Sirius federal territory, one drone struck an oil terminal, said Mayor Dmitry Plishkin.

The district, formed in 2020, functions as a center for technology and education, as well as a training facility for young athletes.

Telegram news outlets shared that both students and visitors were moved to shelters and underground parking garages for safety.

Residents reported hearing air raid sirens and experiencing up to 20 detonations across multiple areas in Sochi.
